Code Orange Kids - Heavier than hell in Europe - July 2012 - Photos by Ryan Mackfall
sorry for the lack of written updates. We’ve literally had no decent internet. I’m sat in Vienna right now with an ankle thats twice it’s normal size. I got eaten alive by mosquitos in Italy and basically I have a bad reaction to any insect that decides to try and suck my blood. So my ankle is covered in big red blotches and will not stop itching. I’m hobbling around like an old man, very painful, but Vienna is probably one of my favourite European cities and I’ve not been here since 2009 when I was with The Ghost Of A Thousand. It’s so old, and not only that it’s the location for one of my favourite films, the third man.
We’ve got 3 dates left on this tour and to be honest we’re all looking forward to getting back to our own spaces as we’ve had no days off at all (I never thought I’d moan about that), but at the same time, I will miss the guys. It’s been such a great time being around a tour full of people who are all amazing, mellow individuals. We’ve got some of the best footage so far for the ‘release’ (more information on what’s happening as and when details are ironed out, it’s gonna be worth the wait). I already feel those post tour blues on their way, normally appearing when I get out of the van for the last time and it drives off to leave me hit up the route back to Brighton. I won’t have much breathing time though with the music video for Paper Tigers next week, followed by the tour with Pianos Become The Teeth and Balance And Composure.
Working hard shooting until September is on the agenda, when I’ll be doing a solid edit period, and then taking a week off as my sister is getting married. Taking time off to get recharged and refreshed. Then in the same month I hit 29. Scary, but real. There really is a lot of stuff coming in and I’m trying to juggle it the best I can so we can do it ALL. Finally our new website is due to be unveiled which I’m extremely excited about. Everything on the new design has been behind closed doors for a while and we’ve made changes to the company in order to make it better suited to the clients we largely attract. I’ll probably do a massive tour write up when I get back to the UK and give a run down of the trials and tribulations. Also there are a ton of photos which I’ve yet to edit.
The tour rolls on…..
Heavier than heavy ever was. Code orange kids.
