A phone interview with Larry Smith, cinematographer.
Larry worked on such films as Eyes Wide shut, The Guard and many many more. His work is an absolute inspiration in The Guard, and I saw a lot of similarities with the composition of some of his shots with mine, particularly the static scene setting ones (the kid on the bike outside of the police station). Hey y'all, my name is Ryan Mackfall.
I'm a cinematographer, director and producer from Cornwall, England who currently lives in Brighton, but works worldwide. I involve myself in as many creative areas as I can. I will film anything (within reason) and enjoy working within a team. A lot of my work comes from the music industry, however I don't really like to pigeonhole myself into single categories. We all need to be flexible in our fields.
